As I type this post, I’m listening to Juval Lowy’s part of the WCF preconference session. Later this day, Ron Jacbos will continue; so perhaps I will post a follow-up later on.
The first part covered the basics of WCF and was mixed with Juval’s known philosophy about the so-called “Plumbing Crysis”. Why do developers spend lots and lots of time on plumbing code while “no body cares” about this. In contrary, why not spend most of the time on the actual business code and let the plumbing be done by a foundation framework. Juval told this story already in the Fishbowl at the TechED Developer 2008. You can watch this recording at ARCast.TV : ARCast.tv - Juval Lowy on Interface Based Design
Although for me these WCF basics were not that interesting, the mix of humor and his interesting approach of using WCF kept my attention with his session.
Edward Bakker and Steef-Jan Wiggers were keeping me company during these first PDC hours.
